Well, selain karena memang secara harga serum ini nggak bisa dikatakan murah, tetapi teknologi yang digunakan untuk selalu improve kandungan serum ini juga kerap kali mengundang banyak beauty enthusiasts untuk membuat battle review dengan high-end brand kompetitornya. In this post, I am going to review Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair for fine lines under the eyes. I've been looking forward to writing this high-end serum review in this blog. Well, who doesn't know ANR, do you? Well, beside its high price, this serum is also well-known for its constantly improving advanced technology that intrigues many beauty enthusiasts to do the battle review with other competing high-end brands. Estēe Lauder merupakan American Beauty Brand yang banyak menaungi beauty brand di bawahnya. Di Indonesia sendiri, brand ini masuk secara legal melalui PT Elo Beauty Indonesia. Jujur, awal dengar nama Estēe Lauder, gue kira brand ini berasal dari Perancis. Ternyata brand ini didirikan pada tahun 1946 di New York City, Amerika Serikat oleh Estēe Lauder dan suaminya, Joseph Lauder (Source: Wikipedia ID).

Estēe Lauder is an American Beauty Brand which is a parent company to many other beauty brands. In Indonesia, this rand is being legally imported through PT Elo Beauty Indonesia. Honestly, my first impression for Estēe Lauder was a French brand. In fact, this brand was established in 196 in New York City, USA by Estēe Lauder and her husband,  Joseph Lauder (Source: Wikipedia ID).

PACKAGING

Sebenarnya waktu awal pakai serum ini bulan September 2021, gue dikirimin sama Female Daily dan Estēe Lauder yang 15ml dulu untuk cobain. Untuk ukuran 15ml ini aja menurut gue harganya cukup fantastis yaa. Sekitar IDR500,000. Tetapi ternyata bisa gue pakai cukup lama karena hanya di 1 minggu pertama gue pakai AM-PM. Sedangkan hari-hari berikutnya hanya pakai di PM Routine saja. Sekali pakai juga cuma perlu sedikit untuk seluruh wajah dan leher. 

Oh ya, sewaktu datang, kemasan 15ml yang gue terima tidak dilengkapi dengan box packaging. Mungkin karena dianggap trial size. Sedangkan untuk kemasan 30ml sendiri dilengkapi dengan box packaging berwarna biru muda kehijauan. Lengkap dengan emboss golden logo Estēe Lauder berupa inisial "EL" yang terkenal itu. 

Untuk informasi yang tertera di kemasan luar ini ada emboss logo di center edge bagian atas kemasan jika dilihat dari depan. Ada juga Nama brand yang dicetak berwarna abu-abu dan uppercase style "ESTĒE LAUDER", nama produk "Advanced Night Repair", tagline dalam Bahasa Perancis "Complexe multi-réparation sychronisée", peruntukan jenis kulit "All Skintypes ⦁ Toutes peaux".  Ingredients list ada pada bagian bawah kiri kemasan, klaim brand diikuti PAO dan recycle logo di bagian belakang kemasan (dalam Bahaa Inggris dan Bahasa Perancis), dan semua informasi dalam Bahasa Indonesia (tanggal, BPOM No., QR Scan Code, klaim, peringatan, serta cara penggunaan) semuanya tertera di bagian kanan kemasan.

Untuk kemasan 15ml warna botolnya hampir sama persis dengan ukuran 30ml. Bedanya, yang ukuran 15ml warna cokelatnya monoton cokelat gelap. Sedangkan botol 30ml botolnya berupa gradasi cokelat gelap-cokelat keemasan. Botol 15ml hanya berupa cap bottle tanpa pipet. Sedangkan botol 30ml dilengkapi dengan pipet kaca dengan karet putih yang di bagian lehernya terdapat desain ulir bertuliskan nama brandnya. Perbedaan paling kentara juga terdapat pada bahan dasar pembuatnya. Botol 15ml terbuat dari plastik sedangkan botol 30ml benar-benar terbuat dari kaca. Bukan akrilik seperti kebanyakan bahan skincare dengan kelas di bawahnya.

Actually, in the beginning of usage of this serum September 2021, Female Daily and Estēe Lauder sent me the 15ml version to try out. To me, even the 15ml version is quite fantastic in price for IDR500,000 (around US$35). But eventually, this could last for at least 2 months in my shelf because I used this serum for both AM and PM only during the first week. While for the remaining days, I used this serum in my PM Routine only. I only needed a small amount of this serum drop for face and neck usage.

Oh, btw! When the 15ml package arrived, it didn't come with any box packaging. Perhaps, for it is considered as only a trial size. Whilst, for the 30ml version, it arrived in a blue-greenish packaging with an embossed golden logo of Estēe Lauder in its famous "EL" initial. 

For information provided on the outer  packaging, it has its embossed logo in the center edge of the from packaging. Also it has the brand name printed in gray color ith uppercase style that says  "ESTĒE LAUDER", product name "Advanced Night Repair", a French-tagline that says "Complexe multi-réparation sychronisée", and skintypes objective that says "All Skintypes ⦁ Toutes peaux". Ingredients list is provided on the down left side of the box, brand claims along with PAO and recycle logo are on the back of the packaging (both in English and French), and all information in Bahasa Indonesia (dates, BPOM No., QR Scan Code, claim, warning, and usage direction) are provided on the right side of the box.

For the 15ml bottle color is quite similar to the 30ml one. The distinctive appearance between these two is that the 15ml appears straight in dark brown color while the 30ml appears in gradient of dark brown-golden brown color. The 15ml bottle is just a cap bottle without pipet while the 30ml bottle is equipped with a glass pipet with its engraved design with the brand name on its neck and a white rubber. The major difference lays in the bottle material difference. The 15ml is made of plastic yet the 30ml is made of an actual glass. Unlike other brands below its category that usually prefer the acrylic ones. 

FRAGRANCE

Produk ini tidak mengandung artificial fragrance sama sekali. Tetapi jujur, wanginya enak. Gue kira awalnya bakal bau squalene yang rada kayak minyak tanah begitu. Ternyata enggak, kok. Jujur susah deskripsiinnya. Tetapi, gue bisa bilang wanginya mahal. Nggak akan tercium kecuali diendus. Jadi, buat kalian yang sensitif atau kontra sama fragranced skincare, gue pikir kalian bakal suka sama produk ini.

This product does not contain any artificial fragrance at all. But honestly, this one smells good to me. At first, I thought this would smell like typical squalene oil similar to kerosene. Surprisingly, no it's not! I barely can describe what it smells like, tbh. But all I can say is this smells luxurious. You can barely notice the scent unless you sniff through the bottle head. So, for those who are sensitive or cons to fragranced-skincare, I bet you might love this one!

TEXTURE

Tekstur serum ANR ini antara water-based gel serum dan squalane serum. Warnanya cokelat keemasan. Tidak terasa berminyak, mudah diratakan ke seluruh permukaan kulit, dan mudah meresap. Sesudah pakai serum ini, nggak terlalu banyak glow yang berlebihan sampai terkesan kayak wajan penggorengan. 

Tetapi cukup velvet healthy glow dengan hampir tidak ada residu sama sekali. Sangat ringan bahkan untuk digunakan di pagi hari sekalipun. Meskipun ini serum anti-aging dan namanya "Advanced Night Repair", serum ini juga berdasarkan klaim brandnya sangat baik digunakan di pagi hari sebagai penyedia antioksidan bagi kulit.

This ANR serum texture is in between water-based gel serum and squalane serum. It has golden-brown color. It doesn't feel greasy, easily spread throughout the skin surface, and easily penetrate into the skin. After using, this doesn't left any excessive glow that made our skin looked like it has been dipped into a frying pan full of oil. Just enough velvet healthy glow with almost no residue on skin surface. It's very lightweight. Thus, eventhough this is an anti-aging serum being branded as "Advanced Night Repair", according to the brand claim, it can also be used during the day as an antioxidant property for our skin.

pH LEVEL & SKIN ANALYZER TEST

pH Level Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum (ANR) adalah pH 5,0-6,0 yang merupakan pH mendekati kulit normal. Sehingga baik untuk kulit. Tidak menyebabkan kulit menjadi kering.

Untuk hasil pengukuran dengan Skin Analyzer, single use product, terdapat peningkatan kelembaban dengan level +28% dari 16% menjadi 44%. Untuk hasil maksimal, gunakan dalam keadaan kulit lembab sesaat setelah mencuci muka dan menggunakan toner.

ENGLISH
Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum (ANR) pH Level lays between pH 5,0-6,0 that indicates normal skin pH. Thus, this product is considered as safe for topical usage without stripping the skin. 

For Skin Analyzer measurement result with single use product, there is an increasement for humidity level as much as   +28% from 16% to 44%. To achieve the maximum result, use on a clean damp skin after cleansing and using toner.

MY THOUGHTS

September 2021 - Februari 2022

Jujur, speechless! Tujuan utama gue pakai serum ini awalnya untuk ngatasin permasalahan di area sekitar kulit mata yang sudah cukup parah. Dengan dark circles dan fine lines, ditambah gaya hidup nggak sehat karena sering berkutat dengan gadget dan begadang. Rasanya susah banget kalau cuma ngandelin eye cream doang. Akhirnya dengan kombinasi itu semua, perlahan garis halus di bawah mata mulai berkurang, lingkar hitam juga memudar, dan kantung mata lebih samar.

Hasil di atas tentunya bukan sesuatu yang instan. Gue udah menghabiskan 1 botol 15ml dan setengah botol 30ml (total 30ml pemakaian). Ditambah ada kenaikkan berat badan, juga mulai rutin reapply eye cream dan sunscreen setiap ngerasa area mata mulai kering. Kalau kalian punya area mata yang kering kayak gue, memang masalah kayak gini bakal lebih mudah terjadi. Sekalipun usia gue masih di pertengahan 20-an. Pokoknya kalau kering pasti makin kelihatan dalam fine lines-nya. Tetapi jujur, sekarang udah jarang banget ngalamin make up cracking di bawah mata.

Pokoknya, harus rutin jaga asupan hidrasi, hindari pakai gadget terlalu lama, lebih mindful ketika make up atau membersihkan area mata, dan usahakan jaga berat badan tetap seimbang. Berdasarkan pengalaman, karena pipi gue chubby, kalau kurusan gitu pasti area mata jadinya cekung. Alhasil, kalau senyum malah pipinya bikin cekungan di bawah mata. Itu awal mulanya kenapa gue sampe bisa punya fine lines yang cukup jelas bahkan sebelum memasuki usia kepala 3.

Oh ya, efek prominen lainnya yang gue rasakan adalah kulit wajah dan leher terasa lebih kencang. Bukan kencang ketarik, tetapi lebih lifted. Biasanya kalau bangun pagi area pipi kelihatan agak dragging karena pengaruh gravitasi. Ditambah produksi kolagen di usia gue sudah mulai berkurang. Tetapi, semenjak pakai serum ANR ini, gue ngerasa kalau tiap bangun pagi muka terlihat fresh dan firm. Warna kulit juga lebih rata, bekas kehitaman lebih cepat pudar, dan jerawat hormon juga lebih cepat reda.

Honestly, speechless! My main goal of using this serum at first was mainly to improve my eye area which is quite severe already. With dark circles and fine lines, combined with poor lifestyle and habit due to sleep deprivation and gadget usage. It seemed impossible to tackle this problem by solely relying on eye cream. Finally, with all those product combination, slowly the fine lines under the eyes are fading, dark circles are improving, and eye bags are decreasing.

The overall result above surely was not an instant achievement. I had emptied a 15ml bottle and half of the 30ml one (30ml of usage in total). Plus, I had gained some weights and also regularly reapplying eye cream and sunscreen anytime my under eyes feels dry.  If you have dry under eyes like mine, you are more likely being prone to these problems too (certain aging signs, i.e fine lines). Despite me being at my mid 20's, whenever my under eyes went dry, my fine lines are more likely to be more emphasized. Truth is, recently I rarely experience any under eyes make up cracking tho!

The most important thing is, stay hydrated, avoid using gadget in a long period of time, be more mindful when applying and removing the make up products around the eye areas, and make an effort to balance your body weight. Based on experience, since I have chubby cheeks, whenever I lost some weights, it will create a hollow form under my eyes. So that whenever I smile, my under eyes seemed concave and deep. That was when I first got my fine lines even before I hit my 30s.

Oh btw, another prominent effect that I got is that I feel my skin around face and neck area feel more firm. By no means it feels stripped, but I feel like they're lifted. Usually, when I woke up in the morning, I felt like my face skin looked dragging because of the gravity. Plus, my collagen production has been slowly decreasing. But, since I use ANR, I feel like every time I wake up in the morning, my skin looks fresh and firm. My skin tone becomes more even out, hyperpigmentation fades faster, and hormonal acne heals faster.

FINAL VERDICT

Pros (+)

+ Mampu membuat kulit wajah dan leher terasa lebih kencang.

+ Sangat ringan dan mudah meresap ke dalam kulit.

+ Melembabkan tanpa terasa greasy dan hampir tidak meninggalkan residu.

+ Mampu mengurangi garis halus di bawah mata setelah pemakaian rutin selama 6 bulan. Didukung dengan penggunaan eye cream dan sunscreen (other brands), serta gaya hidup yang lebih sehat.

+ Mampu mengatasi jerawat hormon (individu) dalam semalam.

Cons (-)

- Di awal pemakaian karet pipetnya cukup keras. Terlalu firm untuk digrip saat mau ambil produknya.

- Entah kenapa harus diberi label tambahan di kardusnya? Kenapa tidak re-packing kalau memang ada informasi yang sudah tidak relevan di kemasan? Kesannya jadi tidak rapi.

 + Very lightweight and easily penentrating into the skin.

+ Moisturizing without leaving any greasy feeling and almost leave no residue. 

+ Help reducing fine lines after regularly using for 6 months. Supported by eye cream and sunscreen (other brands), and healthier lifestyle.

+ Help to combat hormonal acne overnight.

Cons (-)

- During the first week of usage, the rubber pipette was too firm to grip when using the product.

- The additional label on the box packaging is a little bit disturbing. Should've been repacked instead if any irrelevant information needs to be diminished.

RECOMMENDATION

Gue tau serum ini memang tidak bisa dikatakan murah karena memang termasuk dalam kategori high-end skincare. Tetapi, buat kalian yang ada budget lebih untuk anti-aging, gue rekomen untuk coba Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum ini. Terutama bagi kalian yang sudah mulai memiliki tanda-tanda penuaan ringan. Kalau tanda-tanda penuaan yang sudah sangat jelas, bisa dibantu dengan treatment medical procedure. Buat kalian yang berada pada rentang usia 25 tahun ke atas, produk ini bisa jadi skinvestment yang bisa dicoba.. Sejauh ini, gue tidak menemukan ingredients yang berpotensi membahayakan bagi ibu hamil dan ibu menyusui. Jadi, gue juga rekomen. Tetapi, kalau mau lebih yakin, silakan konsultasikan dengan dermatologist terlebih dahulu, yaa. Terutama bagi ibu hamil karena reaksi alergi bisa berbeda-beda.

I know this serum isn't that cheap for a skincare product since it is categorized as high-end skincare. But, for those with extra budget for anti-aging skincare, I recommend you to try Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. Especially for those whose skins start to show early signs of aging. If your aging signs are quite visible, I recommend you to also get treated through medical procedure as well. For people aged 25 years old and above, you might wanna have this as your skinvestment. So far, I didn't find any possible toxic ingredients for pregnant and nursing mom. So, I also recommend for them as well. But, to make sure it is safe for you, kindly see your dermatologist as the allergic reaction might be different from one and another.
